Financial & Insurance Policies
Insurance & Financial Policy:
Different providers at Stillpoint Psychiatry have different insurance arrangements. It is important to confirm coverage with your individual clinician and your insurance plan.
• Dr. Sara Marcino and some collaborating nurse practitioners operate as private-pay providers. Patients pay at the time of service, and may request a superbill to submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
• Other clinicians (such as certain psychiatrists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in the group) are in-network with select insurance plans, including BCBS, United Healthcare, Cigna, and Aetna. Coverage varies by plan and service.
General Policies:
• Payment (copay, coinsurance, or private pay) is due at the time of service.
• We will verify benefits when possible; however, insurance verification is an estimate, not a guarantee of payment.
• Claims typically take 30–45 days for insurance carriers to process.
• Patients are financially responsible for any portion of the bill not covered by insurance.
• If we are out-of-network with your insurance, we can provide documentation to help you file out-of-network claims.
Cancellation Policy:
• Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be billed at the full session fee. This protects time reserved specifically for you.
Good Faith Estimate:
• In accordance with federal law, a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges is available upon request for patients who are not using insurance or who are paying out-of-network.
